7-Day Dubai Travel Itinerary for First-Time Visitors

Seven days in Dubai is the perfect length — long enough to go deep, short enough to stay excited. Here is the definitive day-by-day itinerary from our on-the-ground Dubai experts.

Seven days in Dubai is the perfect duration. Long enough to go well beyond the major landmarks, short enough to keep the energy high throughout. This itinerary was created by our in-house Dubai team, who collectively have logged thousands of hours guiding visitors across the city.

    Day 1–2: The Iconic

Start where most journeys in Dubai begin — the Burj Khalifa. Book an early-morning ticket to Level 148 to beat the crowds and catch the city at golden hour. Spend the afternoon at Dubai Mall — the world's largest retail complex — including the Dubai Aquarium. That evening, watch the fountain show over dinner at a terrace restaurant overlooking the Burj. On Day 2, drive to Jumeirah Beach and the Burj Al Arab for exterior photos before exploring the Palm Jumeirah.

    Day 3–4: The Experiential

Day 3 is for the Dubai Desert. Book an afternoon desert safari through Flyout Tours — departing around 3pm, including dune bashing, a camel ride, and a full Bedouin dinner under the stars. Day 4, recover at Palm Jumeirah — visit Atlantis, swim in the Aquaventure water park, or simply lounge on the private beach before heading to Dubai Marina for an evening yacht cruise.

    Day 5–6: The Cultural

Start Day 5 in Old Dubai — Deira Gold Souk, Spice Souk, and Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood. A boat abra (traditional wooden boat) crosses Dubai Creek for AED 1. Day 6 is Abu Dhabi — the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, the Louvre Abu Dhabi, and optionally Ferrari World or Yas Waterworld. The drive takes 1.5 hours each way and is completely worth it.

    Day 7: The Secret Dubai

Spend your final day at Kite Beach and La Mer, ending with rooftop cocktails at one of Dubai's many sky-high venues. For a final meal, head to Alserkal Avenue in Al Quoz for an eclectic mix of galleries, concept stores, and incredible restaurants.

    Practical Notes

Grab a Nol Card for the Dubai Metro — it works on buses too. Taxis and Uber are cheap by Western standards. Book popular attractions like Burj Khalifa and desert safaris in advance. Dress modestly in mosques and traditional areas.
