Skydiving in Dubai: Complete Guide

Skydiving in Dubai means freefalling at 240km/h above Palm Jumeirah with the Arabian Gulf stretching beneath you. Here is everything you need to know before you leap.
There are approximately 200 skydiving destinations in the world. There is only one where you freefall above a palm-shaped island jutting into the Persian Gulf while the towers of one of Earth's most dramatic cities fill the horizon. Dubai Skydive is in a class of its own.
The Experience in Numbers
A standard tandem jump is from 13,000 feet. Freefall lasts approximately 60 seconds at around 220–240km/h. The parachute opens at around 5,500 feet, giving you a further 5–7 minutes of gliding descent with panoramic views. Total experience from arrival to landing is typically 3–4 hours including ground training.
Where Can You Skydive in Dubai?
Dubai Skydive (Palm Jumeirah): The world-famous drop zone with unparalleled views. Tandem jumps from AED 1,995. This is the one most people mean when they say "skydiving in Dubai." Skydive Dubai Desert (Lahbab): Over the red dunes near the city outskirts. A different and also spectacular perspective.
What to Expect
After arrival, you will attend a 30–45 minute ground training briefing with your instructor. You'll be fitted with your jumpsuit and harness. The flight to altitude takes around 20 minutes. Freefall feels faster than you can process — most people describe it as pure sensory overload rather than fear. The parachute glide is calm, quiet, and genuinely beautiful.
Who Can Jump?
You must be at least 18 years old and weigh between 50kg and 100kg. Pregnant women and those with certain medical conditions cannot participate. Reservations are essential — walk-in slots are almost never available.
Practical Tips
Book at least one week ahead. Morning slots offer calmer winds and better photography conditions. Wear comfortable, close-fitting clothes. Secure long hair. Remove all jewellery. Consider booking a video package — you will thank yourself later.
